Carnal Rites

It all started, as it often does these days, with a wonderful pose from stock-photo model Lock-Stock ([link]). She looked so very mysterious and mythic, so (naturally) I painted her as Pythia, Apollo's oracle at Delphi. Pythia is a fun character to draw, as there are so many different symbols of Apollo and of the oracles and Pythia herself (named, interestingly enough, after the dragon that tried to eat her).
